Bruns Amphitheater
100 California Shakespeare Theater Way,
Orinda, CA 94563
The Bruns Amphitheatre is located at: 100 California Shakespeare Theater Way, Orinda CA 94563, which is about 7 miles from Berkeley and Oakland, just off Highway 24. Take the Wilder Road exit and follow signs (less than 1/4 mile) to the Cal Shakes parking lot—look for the blue banners! There’s free parking onsite.
There are limited paved spots available; most of the parking in the lot is in an unpaved field. Park carefully and be aware of mud and tall grass. While we do have onsite security during the show, we cannot be responsible for any theft or damage to your vehicle.
There is a paved area with reserved spots for vehicles with disability placards. We have a golf cart that makes frequent trips up and down the hill leading from the box office to the theater, and the BART shuttle makes a short stop at the box office before proceeding up the hill to the plaza. (Both the cart and the shuttle may make stops in the parking lot.) Click here for more detailed information about Accessibility at the Bruns.
There is a free shuttle (with a wheelchair ramp) from the Orinda BART station to the Bruns, beginning two hours before every performance and again immediately after the show. The shuttle runs a loop every 20 minutes.
Your safety is our priority. Cal Shakes is closely watching and following all safety protocols set by the California Department of Public Health, Contra Costa County, Actors’ Equity Association, United Scenic Artists, and Stage Directors and Choreographers Society to ensure the wellbeing of our audience, staff, and artists.
