Join us for TWO Shakespearian offerings at the Bruns
on Sundays September 15, 22, and 29!
At 1pm, join us in the Upper Grove where Cal Shakes and We Players present Mother Lear, the poignant award-winning production about an irascible middle-aged scholar with dementia who communicates with her caretaker daughter using only the text of King Lear as the two struggle with aging, love and their own balance of power.
Then at 4pm, join us in the Amphitheater for As You Like It to explore the themes of love, self-discovery, and the transformative power of nature so present in Shakespeare’s words as we celebrate 50 Years of Cal Shakes!
About 45 minutes before Mother Lear, join Philippa Kelly in grove for additional insights on King Lear. Then in-between shows you can get a drink at the café, join us for another Grove Talk focused on As You Like It, explore We Players’ installation piece Our Lady of the Moon, and bask in the natural beauty that surrounds our beloved Bruns grounds!
