Cal Shakes Ticket Donations Policy

As a mission-driven non-profit theater company, Cal Shakes is committed to the success of our community partners making a difference throughout the Bay Area. In an effort to better service our community requests, we have updated our policy for nonprofit complimentary ticket vouchers.

All nonprofit complimentary ticket voucher requests will be submitted via the below form. Requests will be reviewed by our committee on a biweekly basis (holiday and show preparations timelines may sometimes lengthen this decision period.)

Only requests submitted via this online method will be considered: any requested submitted by mail or email will be redirected to the online mechanism.

Requests will only be accepted for non-profit organizations.

Priority for requests will be given to:

  • Organizations with a budget under $250,000
  • Organizations whose missions align with our values
  • Organizations in Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco, and Santa Clara counties

Ticket vouchers will be provided for TWO [2] third-tier seats with blankets, for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday performances only. These tickets will not be eligible for a cash upgrade by the voucher holder. Only one voucher per tax ID number will be granted per calendar year.

Cal Shakes will accommodate 100 ticket requests per quarter – quarters starting January, April, and July. In any quarter when the amount of fulfilled requests reaches 100, applicants will be instructed to redirect their request to the following quarter. (After July, requests will be deferred to January).

We recommend you make your request no less than two months prior to your event.

Vouchers must only be used for fundraising purposes.

We do not require a confirmation of receipt or tax letter for our donation.
