During our first Cal Shakes’ Direct Address Series, Allyship and Anti-racism, which took place one month after the murder of George Floyd; we explored how to make revolution a daily practice, while also sustaining anti-racism work. Three months later, we are bringing back the panelists from that conversation and find that they are all leaning towards a frank discussion about personal & collective grief and other difficult emotions.
Join us Friday, September 4th, in a vulnerable conversation about how being skillfully present with our own grief, rage, anger, or even numbness; is essential to sustaining our work in the movement towards Black liberation, which liberates all of us!
Our Panelists:
Lauren Spencer (Bay Area Theatremaker & Educator)
Jasmin Hoo (#Asians4BlackLives, APIENC)
Fresh “Lev” White (East Bay Meditation Center, Affirmative Acts Consulting)
Meredith Smith (People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond)
Michael Robertson (artEquity)
5-7 PM PST
ASL interpretation to be provided.
